  • 450g Stefano classic meatballs
  • 12 ½-inch mozzarella cubes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup panko or Italian breadcrumbs, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 1 ½ cups Stefano marinara sauce
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper


  1. Cut each meatball in half and shape each piece into a little ball.
  2. Press your thumb firmly into the center of each ball and place a ½-inch cube of mozzarella cheese inside. Roll between your hands until the meat is evenly surrounding the cheese. Place on a tray.
  3. Place seasoned flour and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  4. One at a time, roll each meatball in flour, then beaten eggs, and finally breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a large, heavy pan on medium-high. Fry meatballs on each side for 3-4 minutes, or until browned evenly.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan heat marinara sauce.
  7. Serve hot with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
