HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE RICE PUDDING

This is the best way to put rice pudding back on our table. This version is made with eggnog, but if you don't have any, you can use whole milk just fine. Rich, creamy and oh so chocolaty, just the way we like it!

  1. Put the rice, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla bean and it’s seeds and in a sauce pan.
  2. Bring it to a gentle boil and then turn it down to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to keep it from sticking to the bottom, for about 20 to 30 minutes. Taste the rice to check for doneness. The rice should be very soft and plump.
  3. Take the pudding off the heat and add hazelnut chocolate spread, nutmeg and orange zest. Let cool 10 minutes.
  4. Pudding can be served in individual bowls or family style. Garnish with chocolate shavings.
